East Sac County CSD is seeking a Full Time School Business Official due to a retirement. Candidates should possess the ability to manage the Business Services functions of the district including budget and finance, purchasing, transportation, food services, safety and risk management, preparing for board meetings, reviewing board policy changes, management of employees benefits, and other related areas as assigned.
Minimum requirements include:
• A.A or B.A. Degree in Accounting or related field, required
• Must possess or be willing to obtain a School Business Official certification from the Board of Educational Examiners within two years of employment
East County CSD is located in beautiful Northwest/North Central Iowa and comprised of Sac City, Lake View, Wall Lake, and Auburn. The central office is located in Lake View. Our communities offer many recreational areas including Black Hawk Lake along with several thriving small businesses and restaurants. We are located right south of Hwy 20 and are 1 hour from Sioux City, 1 hour and 20 minutes from the Okoboji Great Lakes, and two hours from Des Moines and Omaha. The successful candidate will be supported by multiple administrative assistants, the superintendent, support from an experienced School Business Official, and the East Sac County Board of Education. Additional job responsibilities will be discussed upon request. Salary and benefits include a competitive starting wage based on degree and experience, IPERS, health insurance, and paid vacation.

Congratulations to seniors Tori Hutchinson, flute, and Oliver Daggett, clarinet, for their selection to the NWIBA High School Honor Band. They will rehearse all day on Saturday January 6, 2024 at Morningside University in Sioux City, IA. They have been preparing since July for these auditions. East Sac County Community Schools are very excited to celebrate Veterans Day this Friday! We will celebrate the accomplishments and honor the sacrifices all Veterans have made for our great country. Area Veterans will be our guests at High Five Friday to greet our students and join in saying the morning Pledge of Allegiance. Following that, Veterans and the public are invited to Lake View where ESC will have a Veterans Day program. Please join us in celebrating these local Veterans if you can.

Preschool Sentence Builders! Mrs. Niehaus’ preschoolers have been involved in an interactive writing activity. Interactive writing teaches the students connections between what we write and what we read. The students were excited to build their sentences and share them with their friends!

SCIENCE!!! Biology students are learning about the movement of substances in and out of the cell. Using a chicken egg, students are able to see this process each day with various types of solutions. As you can see, our young scientist like hands on labs!

Things were fun and a little spooky yesterday at East Sac County with staff and students participating in some dress up fun. Students in the Elementary were greeted by the Sanderson Sisters with several classroom parties at the end of the day. There were some great costumes. Check out our pictures. Also, thank you to the parent volunteers that helped out in a few classrooms with the parties.
East Sac County is in IMMEDIATE need of classroom/student associates in both Lake View and Sac City. Associates will work directly classroom and special education teachers to assist students in school. Starting pay is $14.00/hour plus benefits including IPERS, paid holidays, personal days, sick days, and the option to participate in district health insurance. Positions in both buildings are open until filled.

Last Friday, Mrs. Mueggenberg's 7th and 8th graders went over their last year’s Iowa Assessment Scores for ELA. After studying the data, and having great conversations about the importance of the assessments, they set a goal for this year’s test. Here’s to showing off how much we’re learning this year!
