On November 25th, our East Sac County First Graders hosted their first Parent Read In. They kicked off the Parent Read In by reciting 3 Thanksgiving poems, celebrating the season of gratitude. The students worked so hard in their reading, and their efforts truly shined as they shared their words with us. Afterwards, they enjoyed a yummy snack together, followed by some reading time with our parents. It was such a special way to spend the afternoon , enjoying stories and celebrating the support we have with our families.
A big thank you to all the parents who joined us – you helped make this event so special!!!

They brought big smiles, positive energy, and set such a great example of leadership and kindness. It was an awesome way to kick off the day and remind our kids what it looks like to work hard and give back! High fives all around!

Last week, organizers of the Shull Center invited our elementary students to a performance by author, illustrator, singer, and song writer, Chad Elliot. Our east Sac County first graders have been working on their Wild and Endangered Animal Unit in ELA. In this unit each student had the opportunity to choose an animal that was either wild or endangered. Students were asked to become an expert on that animal. Each week students researched by reading books and learned how to use other resources about the animal so they could write an informative paper to share what they learned! On Friday, our students had the opportunity to learn from a real-life animal expert, Dakota from the Sac County Conservation. This visit gave our students another resource from the community to dig deeper into their research. Thank you to Dakota for coming in to share your knowledge with the East Sac First Graders!!!

The Sac County DOT crew brought all the excitement to High Five Friday this morning! With their trucks parked out front, our students couldn’t wait to head inside and share some high fives. Thank you for making this morning so special for our students!!!

Thank you to all who came to our book fair. Through your support, this was our best year ever! Because of our parents and community, we will be able to purchase more books for our library and get books in the hands of more students. Thank you!
Thank you also to all who helped us in the set up, tear down and running of the fair including Scott Stone, Melissa Drey, Corrine and Larry Stewart, and Linda Bettin. And thank you to the teachers for their help, support, and understanding.
